After finishing his bachelors degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Dr. Rogers completed a Master's degree in Health Care Ethics from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, followed by his Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center. He then went on and completed his family medicine residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Virginia Tech.

His primary interests are in sports medicine, health promotion and preventive care, undergraduate medical education and osteopathic manual medicine.  He is currently also serves a team physician for Virginia Tech Athletics.
